Members of the Public, Boat Clubs and Local Community Groups are reminded of the necessity and requirement to ensure that there is prior consultation with Shannon Foynes Port Company and the Marine Operations Department well in advance of organizing any water- based activities or events that impact on commercial shipping movements.

SHANNON ESTUARY REQUIRED PILOT BOARDING ARRANGEMENTS
FAO: All Ship Owners, Operators, Master and Agents. All vessels arriving to/sailing from the Shannon Estuary are reminded of the necessity of providingsafe Pilot boarding arrangements in conformance with the required International standards, namely SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 23 and IMO Resolution A.1045(27).

Mariners are advised of the requirement for all vessels entering the Shannon Estuary to maintain their Automatic Identification System (AIS) operational at all times.

SHANNON ESTUARY – APPROACHES TO LIMERICK
Hydrographic Survey – Cross-River pipeline
Northern Divers (Engineering) Ltd will conduct a cross-river hydrographic survey of a submerged gas pipeline on behalf of Gas Networks Ireland on the approaches to Limerick. The pipeline is located downriver of the Limerick Tunnel (see chartlet attached). The survey will include both a shoreline element and also the deployment of a RHIB to conduct the sub-surface survey. The RHIB will deploy from further upstream at Limerick City. The planned date is Saturday 10th December. It is intended that RHIB and shoreside personnel will deploy on-site at approx. 0900hrs and that survey will be conducted close to Low Water (1241hrs that date). The RHIB will maintain a listening watch on VHF Ch11 and VHF Ch16. A designated lookout will also be posted to monitor any approaching traffic. Attention is drawn to ships Masters to ensure that arrangements for the boarding and disembarkation of pilots meet the required standards. A Pilot may refuse to use an improperly rigged pilot boarding arrangement until such time as it is made safe to do so. This will incur delay to vessels as a result.
